TRAVEL INFORMATION

Getting to Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is a regional aviation hub serviced by more than 50 airlines, which is located approximately 50km south of Kuala Lumpur. Flying to Asia via Kuala Lumpur is convenient because there are many scheduled flights to domestic destinations in Peninsular and East Malaysia (Sarawak and Sabah), and to all the major gateway destinations of Asia. 
Malaysia is also accessible by rail and road from Singapore and Thailand. 

 

Getting to Kuching, Sarawak
International connections will require you to transit mainly in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. Kuching International Airport has frequent air links from Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu and Penang in Malaysia, as well as Singapore and Brunei.

Kuching city is approximately 20 minutes from the airport by taxi. You can purchase the taxi coupon from the stand just outside arrivals hall. GrabCar facilities are also available in Kuching city. https://www.grab.com/my/transport/car/

Airlines Servicing Sarawak

Provides approximately 10 daily flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kuching. It also operates a daily flights between Kuching and Singapore.

Offer flights from Singapore Changi Airport to Kuching.

Malaysia’s budget airline, which provides frequent flights to Kuching from Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bharu, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Singapore.

-    Kuala Lumpur: 1 hour 45 min (MAS, Air Asia, Malindo Air)
-    Singapore: 1 hour 15 mins (Malaysia Airlines, Scoot, Air Asia)
-    Kota Kinabalu (in Sabah): 1 hour 15 mins (MAS, Air Asia)
-    Brunei (via Miri): 1 hour (MAS, Air Asia)
